Dear Child,
Our decision about your school
Thank you very much for coming to see us at the tribunal to tell us your views. It was very helpful for us when we were making our decision about which school will meet your needs.
As you know, your mother asked for you to go to School B full time, but the council offered to continue the split placement between School A and the School B. We had a lot of information from different people to help us decide between these options.
We decided that a full time placement at the School B would be best for you for your education. We wanted to explain why we made this decision.
It is really important for you to have:
• a learning environment that allows you to learn and use your braille skills across the whole school and in as many classes as possible
• a curriculum that allows access to independence, life skills and future learning as well as current academic subjects
• access to the right adaptive technology
We were impressed with how you talked about the 2 schools when you came to see us. We knew that it was difficult for you to do that.
We heard that you are making exceptional progress in learning braille. We are confident that you will build on the excellent work you are doing already and make good progress in S6.
With our best wishes,
Legal Member
