Our decision about your school
Thank you for making an application to the Tribunal about your school. We thought it would be helpful to write to you to explain our decision.
Before we made the decision we read all of the papers that were sent to us and we listened carefully to what everyone had to say at the hearing in January 2021. We read that you have Developmental Language Disorder. The law says that this is disability.
We had to decide if you had been treated unfairly because of the disabilty.
You told us that you thought you had been excluded from school in September 2020. You didn’t understand why. You were upset about this. The school didn’t talk to you or listen to you before they made this decision. You felt this was unfair. We agree with you.
You also wanted to be given a full time education timetable. You did not think a part time timetable was fair. You felt this was unfair. We agree with you.
You asked us to tell the school to do certain things. We did this.
We found it really helpful to hear what you had to say. Thank you for talking to us and for providing a written statement. We enjoyed meeting you.
